Pencils' Executive ComPISSation

During the fiscal year of 2010, Pencils rewarded its CEO with over $15,000,000 in compensation, despite the fact the share price of Pencils stock was down 16% from the previous year. The 15 mil doesn't include the perks like life and health insurance, entertainment and travel expenses. If you have the good fortune of being a Pencils' associate, you can see where I'm going with all this. If not, bear with me and you'll find out. The CEO answers to the Board of Directors, and secondly to all the investors who have stupidly invested in a company that doesn't give a rat's ass about their employees. All these people care about is the "bottom line" and seeing the stock price rise. The stock price is based on several factors including sales and growth, projected earnings, etc. which doesn't happen without employees doing their job. Treat the employees like crap, and see where it all goes. I guess I should be happy with my $1.75 bonus this month.

  1. Good point mitch. Ever since pencils started being pricks to their associates the stock has been losing ground. Pencils was a great place to work up until 2005 or so. Ever since then its gotten worse every year.

  2. I don't have a problem with being a Pencils employee(then again, I've only been one since early July). First job to offer me benefits, which I sorely need.

The customers are pissed i don't know what i am talking about and i am pissed i don't know what i am talking about. Such is Pencils. Only one Tech person on at any giving time sometimes less. 5. At our store we received 16 of those cut rate priced Acer laptops. They were priced at $ 299.99. As anyone can guess ALL 16 sold on Sunday with ALL buyers refusing to add ANYTHING for a market basket. Also a "BRILLIANT" executive decided to issue additional $ 150.00 off coupons for the Samsung series 3 laptop in the same week so any current or former Pencils associate can tell what happened to our numbers. This next week they have another cheap laptop (Over 20 !!!!) for sale and the store will lose its ass again and be BITCHED out again by our "DM". My advice to anyone on this forum that has purchased any Pencils stock is to SELL SELL SELL. One of my co workers that worked at "SHITY" is seeing the same thing happen here at Pencils that caused "SHITY'S" demise

Even as a lowly paid Pencils tech associate I still end up having to clean the bathrooms on a regular basis despite working there almost 4 years

  6. Other Anonymous,

Don't worry. Pencils will break your heart soon enough. It only took them 4 months to break mine the first time but I guess I was too damned stupid and kept working there even to this day.

  8. It amazes me that this company is still around, or the doors haven't been beat down by the unions for the way we are treated. I have an idea that corporate might have some kind of idea how fucked it is to work for these retards that are our managers but they obviously don't give a flying fuck. Only the most cunning fuck sticks meet the grade to be a manager, and anyone with any common sense is pushed to the curb. Just last week I notified an assistant manager that corporate requires a background check for GM's, He just about shit because he has two felonies on his record. Really? WTF? I'm a college student being managed by a fuckin crooked felon... and to top it off my my GM has been allowing and pushing people to work off the clock. Dont worry the shit storm is coming soon for the bottom dwellers, and it going to be a big one. Ive counted over 124 hours of free labor for pencils so far, and its climbing fast.

  10. I have worked for them for over a year, and only got a .13 raise. must be nice to be a CEO and make that much. Me, I'm getting less than 12 hours a week, making a little over $8 an hour and drowning in student loan debt, I would have been grateful for a $1 raise..
