I Feel Your Pain

"Pain is what drives the customer to start the buying process."

The above quote was paramount in a recent memorandum given to Pencils' sales associates to help them better understand, and then rip-off customers. It's been over 2 days since I read  that crock of shit, and still can't believe it! What I find even more ludicrous is that corporate most likely spent tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to some ass-wipe to come up with this marketing theory. How about this instead? "Running out of printer ink, paper or #10 envelopes is what drives the customer to start the buying process." The only time I see customers in pain is when they are harassed relentlessly into buying extended service plans. It appears the inmates are continuing to run the asylum. Attention Pencils' shareholders... SELL before the whole place goes down the shitter!!!!!!

  1. Oh, I've witness this pain a customer went through when my manager decided to take this customer hostage because he didn't want to buy Norton or an ESP at the get-go. Basically, he "talked" with this customer for 10 minutes AFTER the guy purchased the laptop. I sold this guy the laptop so I had a talk with him before he was forced into talking to my manager, so I know he was a cool guy and just wanted a laptop.

Right. Instead of investing all this money in Vibe all these morons in corporate I say they should pay us just a little more; this would help us work better.

I asked my GM once "do you think we would do a better job if we got paid more?" His answer was no. I think he's right because he gets paid more than the other two managers combined and doesn't do anything except talk to friends on the phone in the office all day.

  3. 12 million on VIBE! That's almost the CEO's entire salary for a year.
